Ken Taylor To Speak At The 2016 ABA IP Law Conference
Marksmen announces that founder Ken Taylor will be presenting at the 2016 American Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Conference held this week, April 6-8, in Bethesda, MD. Ken and others will be speaking on relevant topics in IP law.
This meeting marks the 31st annual reunion of the ABA’s intellectual property law sector. All meeting activities will take place at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, about 15 miles from the heart of Washington, D.C.
Ken will speak during the Trademark Ethics: Conducting Ethical and Admissible Pre-Text Investigations session, which lasts from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, April 8. Robert W. Sacoff of Pattishall McAuliffe Newbury Hilliard & Geraldson in Chicago will also present during this session. The moderator will be Richard B. Biagi of Neal & McDevitt LLC, Northfield, IL.
The discussion will center on the ethical challenges that come up during intellectual property infringement and counterfeit investigations. Attending attorneys will receive CLE Ethics Credits for their participation.
Ken founded Marksmen in January 1998 with four partners and was the company’s CEO and Chairman for 16 years. He remains active with Marksmen as a business development consultant and the company’s largest shareholder.
In May of 2014, Ken set up Hey Clown Ventures as a consultancy and investor in creative works (heyclown.com). In 2105, he founded selva oscura press, a 501(c)(3), non-profit poetry press (selvaoscurapress.com) whose aim is to publish books from new and established poets.
